This is from a couple years ago at the UMass car show. The officer assigned to work the show had what, at the time, was the only Charger in the fleet. Just for the hell of it he decided to have it put on the mobile dyno that was at the show (he called into HQ first to make sure it would be ok IIRC). He even paid the dyno fee and waited his turn in line like everyone else.

kudos to the HQ for letting him do that. It's always good to get people on their good side.

They used to send a cruiser down to the local drag strip for a "beat the cops" night. Always nice to see attempts to get some good PR.

We had a retuned Caprice for our "Beat The Heat" nights at Sears Point, but stopped doing that a little over ten years ago when I first started working for my department. We held onto the car for another five years or so after that, though.
